Man Flu, it’s not for girls
As it appears I am on the brink of the dreaded Man Flu, I thought I would help my fellow sufferers spread the word about Man Flu. This crippling disease that regularly spreads through the male population of the country, has been claimed to be ‘the closest thing to death without actually dying’. However others say that to claim a common cold to be Man Flu is an exaggeration on the part of the man - of course this was probably written by a woman.
A common response by our female counterparts to our cries of ‘Man Flu’, is ‘Well you don’t have to give birth’. Which I appreciate, however the average labour time is 10-12 hours, whereas Man Flu symptoms can last anywhere from 3 days to over a week! Suddenly labour doesn’t seem like such a bad proposition does it ladies?
So next time your man says he has the flu coming, just imagine what it would feel like to be in labour for over a week and show the guy some love, before it brings him to his knees and help ease his suffering. You would if you loved him.

Now hang on a minute - I understood the term “Man-flu” to mean….you have a little cold and you’re bigging it up to be fully blown flu?
So as a man, if you say you have “man-flu”, you’re admitting to overly whinging about a little cold. No?
I therefore cannot condone such frivilous use of the term as it makes us all look like whiners giving the girls yet another reason to have one up on the boys.
As far as I’m concerned you either have a cold…..or flu. If you have flu, it is never “Man-flu” as that demeans the pain you are feeling which isn’t right..
So which is it? Cold or flu?? Lol.
and the term to mean which
Ok, you add up all the cramps, back ache, sickness, headaches and other ‘monthly’ related annoyances for 40 plus years at a week a go, with the 12 hours of labour and then see who comes out worse off… Not forgetting that us mere women folk also get ill and get the flu!!!
LOL
Speaking as someone who has had morning sickness ALL chuffing day and most of the night for the best part of three weeks not to mention having to give up anything remotely sweet if I want to keep my food down all I can say is I think that you will survive.
Having spent 2 whole weeks and New Years Eve at home in bed whilst the world was celebrating, I can relate to what your saying here.
If you are coming down with it, I feel for you!
